  • Data Shows Slow Growth for Women Owned Businesses

    A new study has shown that St. Louis is lagging behind other major metropolitan areas in the number of businesses owned by women.

  • No More Trash!

    Officials are cracking down on litterbugs in St. Louis, Missouri to save the city, county and ultimately the state thousands of dollars. The estimated cost for cleaning up illegally dumped trash is roughly $5 million along the highways and another $1 million in forests and parks.

  • Enfocus to release new version of Pitstop

    Enfocus is to release PitStop Pro and PitStop Server 11 at drupa 2012. Useful for St Louis print companies doing PDF printing, including poster printing, digital business cards and more, the software improves the accuracy and flexibility of PDF preflighting and correction. PitStop Server also improves automation with the inclusion of metadata as part of the job processing workflow.

  • A greener future for St Louis printers?

    St Louis print companies may one day take a leaf of the book of UK trade printer RCS. The company has installed a charging station for electric vehicles at its Nottinghamshire plant. The company will use the station for its electric vehicle fleet and it will also be available to members of the public. Its not too far-fetched to think this could soon happen in St Louis as a downtown charging station opened in the city in late January, allowing members of the public to charge cars for a cost of just $4.

  • Binding Industries Association Conference comes to St Louis

    The Binding Industries Association (BIA) will hold its annual conference in St. Louis, Missouri this year. The venue is the Hyatt Regency at The Arch and the conference will take place from 4-6 June. Brochure printers and other print companies will be particularly interested in attending this trade event aimed at binderies, providers of graphic finishing, manufacturers of customized loose-leaf products and those who supply those sectors. As part of the conference, attendees will have the chance to tour a range of St Louis binding operations. These provide a range of services including binding services for book publication and private label manufacturing.

  • Looking Ahead to the 2012 Continuous Improvement Conference

    St Louis print companies will have the chance to improve their services by attending the 2012 Continuous Improvement Conference. Organized by Printing Industries of America, the conference will take place at the Hyatt Regency at the Arch from 1st to 4th April. The conference includes 24 sessions focusing on various areas of operation with the aim of providing practical assistance and strategies for printing companies. This will be the 23rd year of the conference, with a theme this year of Driving Organization Excellence. Keynote speakers will include improvement specialist Mike Rother, Michael Bremer of Cumberland Group, Scott Wesseler of Delta Faucet, and Bob Chapman of Barry-Wehmiller Companies.
